Clutch breaks after 20,000km and costs R12,500 despite warranty and maintenance plan

In November 2014 I bought a brand new Honda Civic Sedan from Honda East Rand Mall with full warranty and very expensive comprehensive maintenance plan in place - I wanted to buy something reliable that will never leave me stranded. In this week, after clocking only 25,000 kms my clutch broke (the entire clutch kit) and left me stranded on Rivonia Road in Sandton. I phoned my insurance to have me towed to my nearest Honda dealership which is Mekor Rivonia. Not only was I informed that the warranty covers clutches only up to 5000kms (not a very confident number from the manufacturer), but I was told that the maintenance plan will not cover the costs because I abused the clutch and that was the reason for the break. The workshop manager said to my father that "some drivers simply think they are racing drivers". The manufacturer refuses to accept a mechanical fault from Honda's part.

Now I live in the suburbs (almost never get onto a highway) and drive an average of 60 kms per hour - hardly a racing driver.

I find it disgusting that my brand new car breaks and I have no recourse in having it fixed. Will NEVER recommend HONDA's to ANYONE.
