Deposit money used wrongfully

When we first signed new contract the estate agent told us that the house is gonna be dirty because the owners are busy painting we said that it is fine , the next week the owners themselves came to say sorry about the house being dirty , we had a few complaints about the lights and paint but it was never fixed when we moved out almost all my deposit money was used to fix all problems and 750 rand to clean the house but when we moved in there was no effort made to clean the house and the cealing,light covers, cealing fans strings and windows was already broken but nobody came out for inspection when we moved in and now they use all my deposit money but they never see the improvements i made of fixing the tiles most of the lights and braai area that i build , and for me that is not correct when i asked for my deposit money she said that she is waiting for the muncipalitys statement while she knows she is using my money for corrections
