Homegrown pasta
Hello Peter
We saw on Facebook Homegrown pasta supported by Shoprite for R19.99. This should feed four people. My wife and I decided to buy a packet Jalapeno and cheese in order to see if it is really worth it. We are pensioners and always try to find food that suit our pockets as our pension is little. There are a lot of people seeking for products in order to stretch their money. Last night we made the pasta according to the cooking instructions. The soya chunks and veggies with the seasoning was really not worth it. The veggies was in actual fact small pieces of dried veggies looked like small pieces of leaf's. The pasta was in actual fact the same texture of one minute noodles. The soya you could hardly see and the leafy veggies got stuck in your teeth. The portions as stated would probably be for four small kids. I will never ever buy this pasta again as it is not worth it eating something not tasty. I am confident that shoprite managers didn't try this pasta out for their family. I am now very cautious to buy any other products from these companies. We really appreciate the thought of it but poor people deserve better. Money spent is money gone. Rather remove the leafy veggies and replace it with something tasty.
