Unauthorised Credit checks

Yesterday Homechoice called me to ask if I would like to buy something from them I informed the agent that I am not interested at the moment, Today I receive a message saying that Home choice is doing a credit enquiry on my name!!! I want to know why and not one of the agents can tell me why a credit enquiry was done keep in mind this is now showing on my credit report what ***** is happening here
