Proof of credit status for cash purchases
I am currently under debt review and had an account with Homechoice, which was settled December 2017 .I purchased bedding from them on Friday 23rd .Because the account being closed'or under review it was a cash sale -i received the order confirmation and instructions on payment.Payment was made and i received confirmation of receipt. However when i called to follow up on the order on Monday i was told my order number does not exist on their side !!I emailed the proof of order to them ,I called back and they placed a manual order -no valid explanation for the loss of previous order number.I was then told 'it is because i am under debt review therefore i am unable to make cash purchases from them'.I need to submit a letter from the debt advisers confirming my credit status!!!!!Never have i heard such nonsense. I was told that they will rather refund me but they unable to give me the order because of my credit status. Is this not consumer violation? So a consumer whose under debt review is unable to purchase on credit but they also unable to purchase cash?
