POOR SERVICES
I am really drained by HOMECHOICE to think such a big company that has been operating for over years would really rob people and run away from taking responsibility and accountability.
On the 22nd of May 2025 at 05:18 I complained here on HelloPeter regarding my damaged returned order which I had bought 25th April 2025 - LUNAR COMPACTUM costed R4 500. When I received it on the 2nd May 2025 was damaged so I logged in a complaint requested for another one or refund as it was never handled with care from the warehouse to me even the packer did not pack it probably by the looks of things. The three-drawer handles had a dent or scratched and the 4th drawer handle was broken not even there to try and fix it also the second drawer was a struggle to open. On the 27th of May 2025 the driver came to collect the damaged compactum for return and when I called in at Homechoice was told it will take 14 days for it to reach the warehouse.
I waited and waited… when I follow-up again I was told they logged in for return a cot instead of compactum - how is that possible? Yet I had sent pictures of the damaged compactum so many times via WhatsApp, on email and Instagram. I was then told I’d be sent a dispute letter via email to sign so they can correct the error they have done which they never sent.
I called in again to follow-up on the 10th of June 2025 was told I must send pictures of what is in my possession that is a cot and so I did. I was then asked to send an affidavit as well on the 11th of June 2025 confirming the dates and car registration number which the drivers came to collect the damaged compactum for return and will get feedback in 20 days.
On the 2nd of July 2025 I followed up again because the 20 days had ended, I was advised on WhatsApp to call in at Homechoice because it’s still under investigation with the delivery support team. When I called in at Homechoice was told to wait 7 working days as they have escalated it.
On the 11th of July 2025 I followed up again I was told that it was escalated to the back office I must expect a call from them which I never received. From the 11th until the 14th of July 2025 I followed up on WhatsApp with no response. On the 15th of July 2025 again I was requested to send pictures of the cot I have in my possession and was told to give Homechoice time to investigate.
Yesterday, 21st July 2025 I followed-up on WhatsApp with no response.
What is the way forward from here? Homechoice is playing games - hide and sick with my money. Because their drivers collected the damaged return on the 27th of May 2025 which on their policy states it takes 14 days for it to reach the warehouse but in this case they say they never received it hence it’s still under investigation. Whose fault is it Homechoice? On Sunday, marks 2 months since the drivers came to collect the damaged return but still no feedback - isn’t obvious that someone has ****** my baby’s compactum? If not the drivers then warehouse people. Why can’t Homechoice deal with their staff whilst refunding me my money because am due soon and I need my baby’s compactum that I paid R4 500 cash for on the 25th of April 2025
