IS HOMECHOICE DE*****ING SOUTH AFRICANS, COLLABORATING WITH ********** OR JUST FRAUGHT WITH WEAKNESSES IN BUSINESS CONTROLS AND GROSS INCOMPETENCE?
On 28 August 2020, money was *******ly debited from my bank account. Another ******* debit went off my account on 30 September 2020.
From the debit references, it appears the merchant is Homechoice. I do not have and never had an account with Homechoice. I have also not and never authorised Homechoice or my bank to debit my account for anything in favour of Homechoice. I have also not provided my mobile phone number to Homechoice.
This week (23 - 28 November 2020), I received 3 phone calls through my mobile phone from Agents who identified themselves as calling from the Homechoice Debt Collection Department enquiring as to when I will be paying my instalment for the month, this despite having informed the first Agent that called me that I do not have an account with Homechoice. The same Agent informed me on the call that she had already sent me a sms with the details of the ***** Department and what I will need to do to log a query.
The second Agent promised to refer my “account” to the ***** Department for them to call me regarding the account and to initiate an investigation .
To date no sms nor phone call from Homechoice’s ***** Department, all I’ve received are the harassment phone calls.
This needs to stop! Banks also need to play their part. People’s livelihoods have been messed up where some have been credit blacklisted due to these irresponsible acts of corporates. I am certainly not going to take this lying down!! Corporate bullying must fall!
Thank you for bringing this serious matter to our attention.
We are urgently investigating this and believe you may have been a victim of *****.
We will be contacting you to get further details from you.
Thank you for your patience and understanding
