i was sold a phone with malfunctions

i bought a phone from homechoice September 2022. a month later the battery died and when i charged it was not charging. reported the problem to homechoice and they collected the phone and took it in for repairs, to my suprise i was told i have to pay R3999 for the repairs. i completely refused, as the phone was still under warranty. i told them i did not damage the phone, it was the manufacturing fault, which should be covered by the warranty. 4 months later, they deliver the phone back to me still not working and not switching on....
