Homechoice’s misappropriation of personal information

I keep receiving cold calls from Homechose daily for the past month, despite NEVER giving my details to them, nor opting in for any marketing. Despite this unauthorized use and gathering of my personal information already being in breach of POPIA, I have repeatedly asked them to remove my details from their systems. I have on the last instance told them to remove it or I will report them to the Information Regulator (ito POPIA), however they failed to comply and again contacted me thereafter. I have now lodged a formal complaint with the relevant authority and assume they will receive the relevant sanctions accordingly. It is unacceptable that a company obtains personal information *******ly, and then refuses to remove such when expressly instructed to do so. Then the consultant contacting me gets arrogant and “dares” me to report him - so guess what, I did...

Reviewer Update
After receiving a call from Homechoice on this complaint last week where the representative assured me my contact details have been removed from their database, I this morning received another call from them asking if I would like to purchase anything. I have forwarded this additional breach and ******** activity on to the Information Regulator in support of my already lodged complaint ito POPIA.

I am sorry, but you will not have to deal with the relevant authority as you are in breach of POPIA and have no regard for privacy.

PS: Homechoice: I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU ON ANY MATTER AGAIN! Not even another empty apology or false statement...
