Homechoice Won’t close a paid off account

I had an account with **** choice and have since closed the account in 2017 ... I have asked them to close the account - they said no, then I instructed them to close the account and send me an email to confirm it is closed, which I still haven’t received On thr statement from them with my balance which is 0 - so this means they have not closed my account as per my request. Also noticed on my TransUnion report it still shows the account as open. It’s been more than 2years , why can’t the account be closed like I have initially asked Don't we as customers have the right to open and close accounts - WHY DOES HOMECHOICE DONT WANT TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT!!!!
