Homechoice has ruined my credit score

I am writing a review here because I don't know what else to do. For the last couple of years I have been struggling with a Homechoice debt that isn't mine. The debt is listed twice on the major credit bureaus ( Experian, Compuscan, TransUnion) under the names Homechoice (revolving) and DMC5. DMC5 is Homechoice’s collection agency.

I have made several attempts to rectify this issue, but have been told by a collection agency that the only way to remove the debt is for me to pay - I won't pay because I am NOT the one who opened the account.

At the time the account was opened and the first payment was made I was very unemployed so I would have been unable to open the account and nevermind make payment. One agent took pity on me and offered more information besides my ID number. Both the mobile number and address given as my place of employment did not belong to me - I sent affidavits stating such.

Having sent several affidavits, which the collections agency says they have no record of, I do not know how else to prove that I am not the person who opened the account. I suggested the matter even be escalated, or Homechoice then move the matter to court since I have no other recourse. The collections agent told me NOT to come to their offices and NOT to request to speak to a manager or someone more senior - and to only pay.

I contacted the legal department at Homechoice and was told an investigation would be conducted - I have not received ANY communication since last year! (Initially I was told it would take 20 working days for someone to respond to me).

I am not avoiding my debt, in fact I have another account (with another company) of significantly more money owed that I pay off diligently. I would just like this account removed from my credit record profiles and the matter closed. If this is not possible, then I would like to make it a legal matter which can be settled in court.
