Homechoice *****

I app**** for employment at Homechoice in 2021 after my retrenchment at Edcon. I went as far as going for fingerprints and of co**** submitting my personal documents including ID and latest payslip. I was not contacted after that, I assume I was not successful. A year later I was contacted by the Homechoice collections department saying I owe a little over R11000 on my account… I was baffled as I have never opened an account or spent R11000 - I have no Homechoice products in my home either. I explained this to them and was told to submit my ID copy and affidavit to support a ***** investigation. I have yet to hear back from them and even more frustrating, their collections department continues to call be daily, several times a day. Most upsetting is that my record on ITC shows that I am 8 months in arrears for an account I never opened. This is clearly an internal person who had access to my documents - I only got employment in October last year, how they confirmed employment upon opening the account is beyond me!

My most painful delimma at the moments is that my current landlord is not renewing my lease and I need to move out and find a new house for my family. I cannot do this as I keep getting declined because of this. My children and I are in danger of becoming homeless at this point. I have tried to get feedback from their ***** department, this has cost me over R100 in airtime. They don’t answer the phone and I end up holding for over 10min until the line goes dead.
