Homechoice - Beware don't do business with them because they don't want to let you go once you start.

Hi had a homechoice account and paid it up in December 2020. I then instructed homechoice to close my account and send me a letter confirming that it was closed and paid up. I then received an email stating that thr account was paid up and I took this as confirmation that it has been closed. 8 months later I received a statement from them and was shocked because I was under the impression that the account was closed. I then called and requested fornitnto be closed and was advised that it cannot be closed because there is a credit and they need to refund me. I told them to write the credit off and close this account ASAP as I no longer want to deal with them. It has now been exactly 1 year 5 months since I requested for this account to be closed and still nothing. I sent of 15 emails, made over a dozen phones calls, I even chatted with a few agents on Facebook and all promised me that my account was closed and that I will receive my letter in 14 days. Well it has been 18 months and still nothing. I don't know what to do anymore and everything i done is in vain because nothing comes of it. This account is now affecting my credit profile because it is reflecting as a open account.

Please. Before you dive in and resolve this query. I don't even want to waste my time sending you an information because nothing will come of it. I have now decided that I will take this complaint to the ombudsman. I have proof of every phone call I made, every email that was sent as well as all the messages on Facebook, where I was promised time and time again that this issue will be resolved and still nothing. My last communication was on the 4th of May telling me that everything was done and I was recieve my paid up letter and ITC will be updated in 14 days. I am still waiting. So No thank you, it's a little to late.
