Home Choice's *****, Identity Theft and Poor Service

In October 2020, I noticed a R180.49 deduction from Home Choice. I never ever had any account nor made any purchase with them. I then contacted them and sought an explanation of how this ********** transaction occurred as they did not seem to have any relevant detail about me, including proof of address or ID copy through which they would have verified my identity before finalizing the purchase. They sent me a dispute form to complete and send back to their ***** department but refused to give me any information on what was purchased, delivered to what address and the system of delivery verification conducted. I completed their dispute form and sent that by 9 November 2020. I have been following up with them ever since with no joy. Instead they gave me their ***** Department number that never goes through.

I believe Home Choice is operating with some crime syndicate, probably with networks extending to banks or credit bureaus, to ***** people's identities and de***** them. The number of similar complaints in this and similar type platform, plus their inaction in responding to cases reported or put up preventative systems, bears testimony to this view I hold.

I think we need to open ***** cases against Home Choice and its CEO, and also get a lawyer who can bring a class action suit against this company for damages that people has suffered (including being listed as defaulters in credit bureaus). The consumer protection agencies or commission needs to look into their conduct and their collusive role, incl. of banks and credit bureaus, in breaching of the protection of our private information. We can't just seat back and be victims of ******** syndicates
