********** activity on my account

Received an SMS confirming that I changed my cell number, which I never did. When I called to enquire, it turns out that there is ********** activity on my account. I have not had any interaction with Homechoice in the last few years and have now requested this account to be closed How is it that my personal details were being amended? When I called to enquire they asked me a host of questions to confirm my identity and yet someone else was able to change my details and order on my account. Is this an infringement of the POPIA Act? I hope for their sake they close my account as I've requested.
