***** Killing my Credit Score

I started getting calls from VVM collection agency about an outstanding account at Homechoice for a 24 piece luxury cookware set. Sent in my affidavit stating that I did not make the purchase and that it must be *****. Just to be called by a different collection agency and VVM not even having record of my case anymore. This was the first lack of urgency on Homechoice's part.

Eventually got hold of the ***** department at Homechoice and sent all the relevant information to them as well.

After multiple calls this matter has not been resolved. First they allow someone to make purchases on my behalf and then they don't see the urgency in resolving the matter. My credit score is affected by this and therefore my financial life is being held hostage by a company that didn't do their due diligence to prevent *****, in my opinion.

I ask the public opinion. How far should the victim go to ensure that his/her name is cleared? * Is it the victim's responsibility to coordinate investigations? * Is it the victim's responsibility to follow up with the credit bureaus on whether Homechoice has instructed them to remove the false information from their profile? * Is it acceptable that the victim just write-off all the costs incurred to facilitate the process due to a company's lack of competence?

My answer to all of the above is: "No, absolutely not!"

@Homechoice: I hope this gets your attention. I am still awaiting feedback on whether the credit bureaus have removed the false information from my profile.

@Homechoice, you phone me after posting this, stating that you would get back to me. Never heard from you since.

@The Public: Once again, Homechoice is putting the onus on me to follow up with them.
