Complaint HomeChoice abuse

I am submitting this formal complaint regarding the excessive and persistent marketing calls I continue to receive from HomeChoice.

Since purchasing from HomeChoice, I have been contacted repeatedly, often on a daily basis, with attempts to sell additional products and services. These calls have become intrusive, disruptive, and extremely frustrating. Despite my lack of interest in these marketing offers and my efforts to avoid such communications, the calls continue.

What makes this situation even more concerning is that the calls appear to originate from a constantly changing range of telephone numbers. Blocking one number simply results in calls from another. This creates the impression that reasonable attempts by consumers to stop unwanted contact are being circumvented.

I believe this conduct is inconsistent with the spirit and protections provided by South African law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), which grants individuals the right to object to direct marketing, and the Consumer Protection Act, which protects consumers from unwanted direct marketing communications.

These repeated calls interfere with my daily activities, create unnecessary stress, invade my privacy, and amount to harassment. As a consumer, I have the right to enjoy my personal time without being subjected to relentless sales pressure.

I hereby demand that:

All direct marketing communications to me cease immediately. My contact details be removed from all HomeChoice marketing databases and marketing campaigns. My number be placed on any internal "Do Not Contact" or suppression lists maintained by HomeChoice. Written confirmation be provided that my request has been actioned.

Should these calls continue after receipt of this complaint, I reserve the right to escalate the matter to the Information Regulator of South Africa and the National Consumer Commission for investigation and appropriate action.

I expect your written response and confirmation within 10 business days.

Yours faithfully, Premier.
