Close homechoice Account

I paid up my account at homechoice with 0 Balance, however i kept on receiving their marketing calls each and every day 3 or 4 times a day. I called them and requested that they close my account but told me that they can only supply me with paid up letter, Even today Homechoice account is still active on my credit report. Don't i have the right to open and close accounts? how is it different with Homechoice that they do not want to close their account.
