Cause clients to have bad credit - my lawyers will be in touch
Good day,
I've had an account with Homechoice for three months now. My debit order goes off on the 1st of every month. This month, Homechoice failed to take off the debit order. On the 8th I received an sms saying that I would get a bad credit rating as I'd not paid. I phoned Homechoice and spoke to Christina who immediately admitted that it was their fault. I warned her that I would not stand for any affect to my credit rating. I spoke to her manager, Theo, he also apologised and said that this had been an issue with a number of clients and that they were rectifiying the problem. He then asked me to make urgent payment as they could not do another payment run, which I did. He phoned me later the same day asking if I'd made payment as they were now going to make another payment run. As I had already paid I asked him to exclude me. He promised me a letter that I would not have any adverse affect on my credit ratings and that I would not be charged overdue interest. Needless to say, when I logged into the credit bureau this morning, I show as a late payer. I have also not received any communication from Homechoice barring a statement showing that I'm a late payer. Homechoice, I had every intention of buying a new car this year. With this type of effect on my credit, I have little to no chance. I will engage with lawyers in the immediate and hope that the other people affected similarly will join me. I will also log a complaint with the credit ombudsman. It is not the function of Homechoice to make South Africans less credit worthy through their mismanagement,
