Agents lack professionalism and customer service

Today 29-12-2016 at 11:52 DURING MY WORK HOURS I received a call from a coloured lady agent, who's name I never got because I was brief on the call since we are not allowed to answer phone calls at work.

My grievance is the way the agent spoke to, I was so hurt and embarrassed after the call, I felt like calling through to their customer service and closing my account, but I didn't.

My Homechoice was Never! Not once in arrears nor behind / late payment. I normally pay my accounts on the 26th or a day later, this I paid my account a bit later due to an account error which was made by HOMECHOICE, resulting in my monthly instalment increased. I was not even late because it is not even the 30th yet and I paid my account yesterday 28-12-2016 via EFT, bear in mind my instalment is due BEFORE THE 1st of January.

I am a call centre agent myself, there was no customer service none what's so ever, and if she was confirming payment, there are so many different ways she could've approached me and spoken to me, I certainly don't appreciate and still can't digest what happened. The way that lady spoke to was as if I had owed Homechoice for months. Mind you my account is not in arrears and never was. I dare Homechoice to go have a look at my account, instead of them rewarding me. This is how they thank me for being a good and loyal customer.

In conclusion train your agents, because they definitely don't know the meaning of customer service and have no way to make a customer feel valued. I work in customer service like I've mentioned previously, and the last thing I hate and does not sit well with me is when one of my customers drop the line upset, confused, not comfortable and you name them. The point of the whole customer service is to make a customer feel special and want to come back, after my first experience with such and agent I don't see myself shopping there, hence I've made friends with her colleagues. I could go on and on, but that's enough typing for one night. On a serious note I'm really disappointed with the service I received.
