Account handed over after full payment made

I purshased a couple of items from Homechoice around 2010. Soon after purchasing these item I was retrenched. My husband made an arrangement with Homechoice to pay a R100 p.m. Until I found a job. In March of 2013, I found a permanant job, whereafter I called Homechoice for a balance to settle the account. They informed me that the account was handed over to VVM Attorneys. I called them several times over a period of more than a year to get a settlement. They kept informing me to call Homechoice. I called both companies, and they both kept telling me to call the other as they couldn't help me. Eventually, I was asked by VVM to make an offer. I sent them an email with the amount which I thought was fair. No responses thereafter. I eventually sent an email giving them a deadline to discuss the settlement suggested. No responses! I called Homechoise, the credit controller slammed the phone down in my ear, saying she couldn't help me. I eventually paid the account, sent VVM Attorneys and Homechoice notification of full and final payment of the account. A few days later I got a call from Credit Worx - the account was handed to them for collection!
