TFG's antiquated online payment system

I ordered two chairs online via the TFG website on Sunday, the 10th of June in order to capitalise on a special offer that was running, which would have given me a 20% discount. Upon ordering, I tried to make the payment with my husband's debit card, which didn't go through. We've had some problems with online payments using his card in the past, so he decided to transfer the money into my account. Fortunately there was a 48-hour hold on the items. When I tried to pay for the order from my own card I the payments still wouldn't go through. I tried several times on various platforms (Google Chrome, Safari and Firefox). My friend then offered to try using her card, this also didn't work. I phoned the Call Centre and spoke to three ladies, Tarryn, Lucinda and Chanelle. Only Tarryn got back to me and said that they were looking into the problem. She eventually got back to me to say that according the the company who facilitate the payments, I was informed to contact my bank. This was not the case at all and I told her as such. Unfortunately by this time my 48 hours had expired and she didn't bother at all about getting back to me in any way. It was simply a case of 'too bad'. I asked several times for an alternative payment option via EFT or was willing to go to an @Home store to make the payment, but apparently the system is so antiquated that there are NO alternatives. TFG, I will never again buy online from you again and if it weren't for the great service I received from your Canal Walk branch (Sergio Isaacs in particular) you would have lost a loyal customer. Pathetic service!
