Spend R6,999 on a coffee machine + FREE GIFT

The item on the @home online shopping site shows the price of the Breville espresso coffee machine at R6,999 + Free gift. The free gift is not shown on the website so I called the customer service center of The Foschini Group to ask what the Free gift was if I bought the coffee machine. The call center agent, Zanele tells me that it's a surprise gift! I said for a R6,999 purchase I would like to know what the gift is. Zanele says no it's a surprise. I tell Zanele that the free gift will determine whether I buy the machine or not as if the surprise gift is a plastic cup then it's not worth it. Zanele then tells me \well other people are buying it and we don't have to tell you what the gift is\"<br> How can @home expect a customer to pay seven thousand rand for an item and get a 'surprise gift with no value and/ or what the gift is'. I find this type of marketing misleading and in very poor taste. I have been in retail for 42 years and I know that it is the promotion that drives the purchase (in this instance the free gift). @home should NOT be advertising a FREE GIFT with purchase if they are not prepared to divulge what the gift is!!."
