Poor Service Quality, and USED product

I am very appalled to say the least at the service I received from the assistant manager at @home stores in Lephalale this afternoon. Myself and my husband went into the store to look for some items for our home and as we were entering we were met by Eunice Thivhofuni who was busy mopping the floor. First of all her reception of us was so uncordial, as we walked into the store, there was no greeting at all, we were met with a lout shout “please walk on the other side of the store". I was very appalled by this behaviour for two reasons: 1. Firstly, there was not safety sign as she mopped to demonstrate that the area is wet, which poses a slipping and falling hazard, and It is my view that Ms Thivhafuni’s concern was more of us dirtying the floors than that of safety. To support this view when I later went up to her to tell her that her approach was not welcome, she further asserted the fact that we also can clearly see that the are we were about to walk into was wet, and she is busy and later she also told us if we feel it necessary to walk in the wet area we must walk there. At all this time while discussing this she demonstrated a cheeky behaviour which propelled me to wonder if we were going to get the same reception if were white customers. 2. Secondly, even after approaching her to inform that she was making my customer experience unpleasant by going back and forth with me in argument, Ms Thivhofuni further demonstrated and uncaring cheeky attitude and at this point she made it clear through her body language that getting any assistance from her with regard to our purchases will become a mission. As an assistant manager, it is my expectation as a customer that she should have demonstrated a better behaviour , one that inspires a good reception from us as customers, surely there is a cordial way and a much respectful approach. My husband and I continued around the store and looking for our purchase, we did this in a peaceful manner regardless of the unpleasant encounter with Ms Thivhofuni from our point of entry. As we went to the room spray and defuser sections, Ms Thivhofuni was in the area busy assisting other customer as she made sure that she deliberately stay far from our radar as she demonstrated quite blatantly her unwillingness to be of any assistance to us. I questioned her about a specific room spray and I was very further appalled and disappointed by her response, she was still very rude and cheeky, her responses to me were close ended showing quite blatantly of her disinterest to service me. I asked her where can I find other room sprays of the same kind, to that she just pointed me to a shelf in the most rudest uninspiring manner. She never at once demonstrated a willingness to assist to such an extent that I manage to take the spray and upon taking the spray I noticed that the spray is not full ( as others in the room the fact that I asked her if it was a tester, to which she responded sarcastically that clearly no!, if it was a tester it would have been written tester) When I asked her to show me on the computer other spray ranged as I wanted to compare the specification and to verify the quantities, she went to the computer, once she got there she shouted at me “ bring the bottle” At this stage I was also getting irritated of her behaviour but remained composed. After she checked she told me that the range was discontinued and I must just buy the one that was there as she is sure it came like that and has not been sprayed. I informed Ms Thivhafuni that based on her remarks and my experience at the store, I will take a picture of the bottle ( as close to half full as it is) however I will also complain about her conduct. When she learnt this she request to call her manger to find out if she can sell me the bottle as it is. I found this further questionable as she was sure in the beginning that the bottle comes standard like that. We once again got into an argument about this, to which she later told me to do as I please, she also told her colleague that she will also lay a complaint against me, I believe she wants to do this to throw water at all the experience I narrated above.

Eunice Thivhofuni’s behaviour didn’t inspire the standard of service quality and customer experience that I have always known @home stores for and its highly disappointing. I was sold a half-full product and I was treated in the most awful manner I would not have imagined. Vote of no confidence.
