Policy regarding Vouchers is outrageous
I was given a R2000 voucher as a wedding gift from a friend. Unfortunately the voucher went missing. After enquiring about blocking the card and transferring the funds onto another card I was told that although they can block the card they are unwilling to refund the money or transfer the funds onto another card as this is against company policy. The voucher is like cash and if it goes missing it's not their problem. So what is the point of a gift card? And it's not like they aren't able to transfer funds. If the card was merely damaged they would happily transfer the funds to a new card.

They have subsequently tracked the card number from the details I gave them, money has been spent so it appears it was ******. There is an amount left on it and they have blocked the card but once again I have been told that they will not let me have what remains. So they are happy to prevent anyone from spending anything more on the voucher and keeping your money. This sounds like *****ing to me.

Just because it is company policy, does not make it legal. When someone can clearly show that they are the rightful owners they should be able to claim what is theirs
