Gift card

I went to @Home Centurion Mall on the 23rd of March and my gift card was expiring on that day but their terminals were faulty they could not help me. The teller called customer service card division to check if my card was valid and how much it had, it was confirmed that I have R2250, card division advised the teller to complete a form for card replacement. The teller told me that she will complete the form and let me know when to come and collect the new card. She called after 7 days and told that the card division says they cant do anything as the card expired mid-night of the 24th march, but I was there on thr 23rd to use the card. It is not my fault that their tills had issues. I need my money.
