Faulty product

I bougt a garlic crusher 28 April 2019. On 29 May my husband used it and the handle broke. It was the 3rd time we used it.

Took it to Newcastle Mall 1 June 2019 they said it had to be send for assessment to see why it broke.

They didnt send it away and manger said assessment was done in branch the week passed.

They called twice where the first time we didnt have signal. Today they phone again (7 June) and said it was our fault it broke because it was a clear cut. No proof that assessors saw product or any written report on broken product.

The manager said it look like we used it incorrectly. We put garlic on other side and pressed it. Well if we were uneducated we wouldnt even think of buying a garlic crusher. By saying that we know how it works.

Also they never recieved a faulty crusher back at their store was said by the manager.

Attached photos of your branded Salt and pepper garlic press.

It is less than six months old. Product was used for garlic, it was washed and cared for according to instructions.

So according to your return policy on the back of slip a faulty product must be repaired or replaced or given a refund. No where in your policy it said it must be assessed before any repair, replacement or refund can be made.

A consumer have the right to return goods or have goods replaced or claim a refund if good had a defect in this case it broke.

Faulty items may be returned as we did but had to take it back because assessment said it was a clear cut and manager said it was a solid product.

Consumer may return faulty item in six months (product was bougt 28 April returned 1 June). That is one month and 3 days).
