Expired gift card

I lost my gift card and went to report it to my nearest store. I asked if I could give necessary details so that they could block it and transfer my money into the new one, and I was told that it was not possible. 3 months after, I recovered my card unfortunately it expired . I went to the store and asked if they may reactivate if for me and the answer was no. I'm so disappointed, because it's like I just donated money for @home. To my surprise other stores are able to assist with the reactivation. The reason why I didn't use it the same year was because I did not have a house by then, now I have house and still can't be able to use it. I'M VERY MUCH DISAPPOINTED! R800 is a lot of money.
