@home online egift card never sent to intended recipient!
On 22nd June I purchased an online egift card for my son intented to reach him in time for his house-warming the following day. Needless to say he never received the sms and I felt like a total idiot! I couldn’t even sort it out over the weekend cause obviously customer services were closed. I phoned the online service helpdesk this morning and they took the order number and simply asked me to phone customer services to resend the sms. It sounded simple enough; however, my experience was bad! Firstly I was asked what cell number I used and maybe I punched it in incorrectly. Then I was told by the CS representative that she checked with Online Services and they confirmed I sent it to a different cell no, mine in fact!? I also didn’t receive that sms supposedly sent to my cell. Anyway, after a half hour of to and fro with CS and OS I was told that a call needs to be logged with tech helpdesk to investigate. TFG were quick to deduct the money for the voucher yet not so quick to simply resend the sms to the intended recipient. I was told it will take a further 2 days to provide feedback. @home this is BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE and I wouldn’t recommend any one to use your online functionality that is obviously not geared towards convenience and user-friendliness (it would’ve been simpler to drive to the store and buy an old fashioned gift voucher!). Please sort this out today and send my son his egift card sms today or refund the R1000 to me today. Either way this has to be sorted out today before close of business!
