@home sells cheap furniture.

We purchased a couch in November 2019 and the quality was not satisfactory. The couch very early on seemed to be 'sinking' at certain spots. The back rests had also lost shape. I had reported the matter to the @home customer care, after 3 months, they responded asking me which branch I had purchased the couch at, silence since then for another 4 months.

Subsequently, the couch has started tearing too. Given that the couch was purchased for R13k, I do not believe the quality matches the price. We have a couch in our informal lounge purchased from Essops in 2016 (which is used more often), that remains intact in in great condition.

According to @home return policy, an inspector would be sent to our home to inspect the fault at our expense. Only once the inspector agrees that the item is indeed faulty, would we be refunded and they will then take the matter further. I find that even this practice is unusual and deters customers from questioning faulty goods bought as they would carry the cost implication.

I would still like a full exchange as the quality of the item does not serve the purpose which it is used for. I don't want an exchange, nor do I or my husband even set foot in @home anymore because with the knowledge we have now, everything is them overpriced cheap furniture that won't last you at all.

I would highly discourage anyone from purchasing any furniture item from this outlet!!!!!!!!!!!
