@ Home bad customer service

Was just at the store in pavilion and a toaster was marked down on sale for R103.9 . The store manager said that I can not take it for the price that is shown on the product he said that the price is R1039. I explained to him that as the customer I have to pay the price that is displayed on the product and he still refused he said no I can not take it for that price that is shown on the product now tell me how exactly does this work. Don't we as customers pay for what is marked on an item. That is totally unfair and misleading to the customer. I'm very disappointed with this outcome
