We purchased a door lock set (R109.00 ) and it was faulty, so took it back the same day. The ladies behind the counter were very rude, ( Daughter and mother ) I did not catch her name as she does not speak English well, however advised we could not have a refund because we opened the packaging the lock came in. She said we had pay another R70.00 to get a replacement. We obviously refused and went to the mall management, where ASH assisted in getting us a replacement lock ( which also was faulty) however when my son went to fetch the replacement lock, was told " this is the only time you will get away with this " Never in my life have I experienced such lack of customer service and they are clearly are not aware of South African law as far as consumers rights go. Very very arrogant people at Home Star and if you buy anything, make sure you are ready for a fight if its broken, because clearly they hare happy to sell broken goods without the option to replace them or get your money back
