Bad shoes broke in less than 1 year and a half

I bought these Holster sandals in March 2014 and they broke last week for no reason just like that. They were only worn a couple of times and look like new but broke. When I contacted the company and sent picture eggy said there is nothing that can be done for me. When I paid 490 rands for these I was expecting them to last a little longer than just one summer. I am very disappointed at the shoes that are not the quality they pretend to be and at the poor customer service who did not offer to help with repairing or replacing them. I will never buy Holster again neither will I let anyone I know buy them because they are simply bad quality shoes.
