no refunds on gifts

My daughter received a gift of some items of clothing from H&MSANDTON for her birthday on Sunday.<br> <br> As the skirt doesn't fit her and she's not mad about it, I went to the store to exchange it for something else.<br> <br> The manager point blank refused!<br> <br> Surely the consumers act in South Africa allows for gift items to be exchanged (please note the labels were still attached to the garments - only the price had been torn off )<br> <br> This store needs to realize that if one receives a gift, there is no till receipt and if the goods are still labelled and brand new, the consumer has every right to exchange. <br> <br> I'm most disappointed in this store that only very recently opened their doors in South Africa and they are the only clothing store in this country not allowing to exchange goods given as gifts ......a disgrace!
