Arrogant. Cash Grabbing. Unreliable.

We bought a marble dining room table in Cape Town and used H & M to transport it up to Johannesburg. We took out good in transit insurance on the table. The table was due to arrive on the Friday. We had taken time off work to accept delivery, but the table never arrived. No communication from H & M as to why the delay and when we could expect delivery. They arrived on the Monday while we where at work, our builder signed for the table and stored it safely in the garage. When we uncrated the table to assemble on the Wednesday we found the table had a crack in it. We alerted H & M immediately to get the accessor out and start with the insurance claim to replace and we where told the claim would not be happening as the delivery note had been signed and that was the end of that. Help me understand how this plays out on your terms? We paid for insurance. You delivered late - where the table was all weekend who knows? No proof from them that the table was not damaged while in their care. We insure things for this exact reason. So happy to take all your cash and when it's action time. Nothing! We have tried to contact them several times to resolve and they are not interested.
