Selling rejects

I bought a combo set, oven, hob and extractor fan online from Makro. The hob numbers are coming off after 2 days only. I complained to Makro and was informed that the supplier says due to no fault they unable to do anything. The fault is that the product is a reject.....how does the numbers come off???? Never have i had this issue with Defy or any other brand i have purchased
