Rusting Hisense dishwasher
I bought a Hisense dishwasher in October 2022. After several issues, repairs and defects with the unit, Hisense autorised a direct swop for me at Makro Centurion. This was around March/April 2023. The new out of the box unit then broke again in September 2023 and a repair was logged on the 5th of September and a week later, after numerous follow ups, it was fixed. December 2023 I noticed water on my kitchen floor and after inspection I noticed the side panel keeping the seal in place is coming apart. Upon a closer look, I saw both of the washing racks are covered in rust all over. Hisense is refusing to do anything about the rust as the machine is older than 6 months (even with a 2yr warranty). This type of rust does not happen overnight. They are using inferior material and work manship. This is not cheap machine and now poses a health risk to me and my children. They said might look at the defective workmanship with the seal and panel. But apparently rust is not covered under the warranty. So I must be happy to use a machine that is a risk to my family's health or replace the racks on my own cost. Must I do this every 6-9 months? At a cost of over R2000? This is totally unacceptable as I have another dishwasher from another manufacturer that is 20 years old and not a single issue. I will make sure that everyone I know is informed to never buy a Hisense dishwasher as it is an inferior product with terrible after sale care.
