Malfunctioning Hisense Fridge Till Slip Dilemma
We bought a Hisense fridge in October 2016 and it worked properly, keeping our food in good condition for more than one day, where necessary. It started giving us problems during the second term of 2018, but we kept changing the temperature assuming we had set it wrongly. This became worse from August 2018, where the fridge would freeze and the food in it would rot if was kept for more than 1 day. We still tried to switch it on and off and adjust temperature settings, it would seem okay for a moment and then start again. Due to unforeseen circumstances we could not report it at Game-Richards Bay, where we bought it. From last week the freezer rubber also became loose-the upper part.
I went to report at Game-Richards Bay on Saturday that it is giving me problems, and I was told that I have to produce a till-slip for them to contact Hisense so that a technician would be sent to us. Granted, a till slip is important; thus I have been searching my house for it since Saturday. The problem is the food will not remain fresh whilst I am busy with the search, considering there were renovation moves in the house between the time of purchase and now. Yesterday, 07 January 2019, I called the Hisense Customer care centre to explain my dilemma and I was told that without a till slip we would have to pay the technician. At Game they even wrote the date 26 October 2016 on the paper in the fridge corner when we bought it. I thought that would matter, but I was categorically told, only with the till slip will Hisense send a technician and pay for her/him. Disgruntled I even told the agent that I am no longer going to buy the HISENSE products. That I said because I was also struggling with my Aunt's new HISENSE cellphone, and we were trying hard to look for its till slip. For the fridge I even tried to trace through my bank for such a transaction, but it would appear that we paid cash for it as they had no record of such a transaction.
As per my review on the cellphone, I planned to buy a new battery to revive my Aunt's excitement whilst looking for the till slip. That move has been disturbed by the reviews I saw this morning on the cellphone, and has had me have my eyebrows raised about the company the shop guaranteed its service when I bought the fridge.
I guess it means we must go ahead and call a technician on our own though the fridge is under warranty.
