Latently defective Hisense phone snd they wont refund
On Friday 10 September 2021 I purchased a Hisense U606 cellphone from Hifi Corp Atterbury. Upon arrival at home I noticed that the cellphone did not have the power on and volume button.
I returned the phone the very next day , Saturday 14 September, literally just after 9am.I was advised that the process would have to go back via Hisense SA and I did not have any issues with this. On the bona fide belief that I would be assisted in getting a refund and not a repair I bought the same phone at the same time.
I was not provided with a reference number for my service/ repair. I was advised that I would be provided with feedback on Monday 13 September.
On 14 September I called the store and requested for feedback. I was told they would call me back.
On 16 September I called the store and I was advised that they would call me.
On 17 September I sent a complaint via Hifi Corps website. On the same day, I called the store again and I was told that they would call me once they had feedback, they didn’t have any feedback yet. I requested for the Manager, the person I spoke to to send me an email to that effect. I did not/have not received that email yet.
On 20 September 2021 at 09h10 I received a call from the Manager. He blatantly told me that I had dropped my phone and that Hisense had rejected the warranty and I would have to pay for the repair out of my own pocket. He said that there was a quote and asked me if I was accepting or rejecting the quote.
This is totally unacceptable behavior from both Hisense SA and from Hifi Corp. The cellphone had a latent defect and I brought it back the very next day. Kindly provide me with the report or the paper trail of when I dropped of the cellphone to date of receiving the quote.
I requested for a reply to my emails today and i was told that we have already rep**** yo
