A Hisense cellphone was purchased by contract through MTN Maponya Mall. This was purchased by my sister. All these years she has had a contract with MTN Maponya mall and all was smooth. This last purchase is a nightmare. The contract started on the 02/07/2019. Earlier this year the gudget gave problems and on the 06/02/2020 it was send to Maponya mall for repairs. From time to time she would call them wanting to know when will the phone be fixed and returned every time she called she was told that Hisense still has the phone it has not been delivered to the store. About 2 weeks ago they called to say the phone was at Maponya when she went there to pick it up she was told that Hisense has made an error the phone was not ready yet. Last week the same thing happened. A Hello Peter complaint was done about the MTN service, instead of responding properly they were rude and said the error was not on thier side but Hisense is responsible. She asked if she could cancel the deal and was rudely told that she would have to pay a sum of R3000.00 upfront before a cancellation can be done. The person I am writing on behalf is a 67 year old pensioner who is illiterate and has no understanding of all the terms and conditions imposed. Both MTN and Hisense are both responsible here but neither of them wants to take accountability, where does she go now. They target the elderly on purpose because they know that they are ******** is this how we should be treated especially the BLACK elderly? This is the 2nd hello Peter complaint I am writing about this issue and nobody is budging.
