Hisense Worst dishwasher in history - Racks Rust within months, DO NOT BUY!
Bought a hisense dishwasher from takealot, the racks started to rust within the first couple of months. I contacted hisense about this and just got a reply stating that the warranty does not cover the racks. As far as I can tell this is a manufacturing fault, or poor quality racks as I am not the only one experiencing this problem. I have now requested assistance twice from Hisense, September 2024 and again March 2025 and just get the same generic reply

and nothing further... I want new racks, I will pay for them if need be, but currently the rust is staining my plates and cutlery!! Contact me ASAP to get this sorted!

I have sent them an email now with my problem, will see if they reply and try to resolve this issue. Also note that this seems to be a manufacturer issue as there are about 100 reviews of Hisense dishwashers with the same issue. They should have actually issued a recall or offered replacement racks of better quality.

26 Mar 2025, 16:08Ok, so the spares department contacted me today with a quote, but only for the bottom basket as they don't have stock of the top basket. Replacing just one is not an option and at R1 309,50 for one basket that will probably start to rust after 3 months it just doesn't seem worth it. A replacement dishwasher from another brand with great reviews will cost just under R5000..... So why would I go spend around R3000 for ***** racks that was supposed to be covered by warranty or at least made of better materials that WONT RUST! Hisense should look at better racks for their dishwashers if they want to continue selling them. As of no I will never buy any Hisense products and make sure everyone knows to stay away also. I used to be a big Hisense fan, but this is a dealbreaker. I can't replace my racks every year or two. My previous dishwasher was 15 years old and no rust anywhere. I only sold it as it was not A+ rated. It is probably still working 100% with the new owners.
