Hisense TV not assessed - warrantee not honoured

We bought a Hisense TV Nov 2022 from Stax in Woodlands and were told it holds a 4 YEAR Guarantee. We moved into a small townhouse and need to wall mount the TV due to space. The electric cable was to short to reach the plug and my husband had to cut the cable and extend it in order to reach the plug. 21 September the TV was dead when switched on and only displayed a red flickering light at the bottom. We then took it with the purchase slip to Stax as the TV has a 4 year warrantee. Ha ha haaaaaaa We had to enquire ourself at Stax for feedback and after a week we were told that the technician did come to Stax but did not even look or took the TV for an assessment. Comment on report 30 Sept - Customer joined the power cable. I phoned Stax who gave me a telephone nr for Hisense to phone. I phoned Hisense and were told the same re the cable. I then asked what should we as customers do if a cable is too short to reach a plug. I was told that we should phone Hisense and they will send a technician to join the cable. I asked for proof to as to where in the terms and condition this is indicated and was told it does not form part of the terms and conditions. I then contacted the consumer board and a consumer lawyer gave feedback on Hisense terms and conditions as follow: re the terms & conditions point 6 " .... attempt to repair or tamper with the EQUIPMENT....." meaning - The warranty in relation to the TV should pertain to the actual TV unit and should not have anything to do the cable and plug of the TV. To cut and replace a plug make no logic sense for the warranty to be voided as the cable is not part of the EQUIPMENT and Hisense surely does not place a warranty on the cable and or plug. It is very generous of Hisense to give a 4 year warranty and hide behind the terms and conditions as it suits them not to honour the warranty. I have with success exchanged another product from a different business with a cut cord who had no problem to honour there warranty. It is a shame and I shall never look at a Hisense product again and I shall advice all my families and friends the same.

Firstly - No where in your terms and conditions it mention that only an authorized technician can/should extend the cord and replace a 3 point plug. Secondly your clause 5.1 does not mention anything about the cord. It mention equipment which surely is the actual TV unit. By extending the cord to the desire length is not coming near the actual TV. The actual equipment was not opened, seal not broken or damaged. As the consumer lawyer mentioned - The warranty in relation to the TV should pertain to the actual TV unit and should not have anything to do the cable and plug of the TV. To cut and replace a plug make no logic sense for the warranty to be voided as the cable is not part of the EQUIPMENT and Hisense surely does not place a warranty on the cable and or plug. I shall as mentioned NEVER EVER look at Hisense again and shall advice all my friends and family the same as far and wide as I can. The report I got I cannot even attempt to try and claim form the insurance AS HISENSE DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO COLLECT THE UNIT TO DO A DAMAGE REPORT AND GIVE FEEDBACK!!!!!! If you wanted to keep your customers happy, you could have taken the TV and revert back to the customer that the TV is fixable but do to the cutting of the cord the customer must pay for the repairs. Hisense's attitude STINKS!!!!!!!

You keep on hammering about the cable. You don’t probably because you cant show me where in your terms and conditions it states that a Hisense technician must be called to replace and or extend the cable. We as consumers are on the loosing end. And where does it state the cable is part of the equipment (TV)?
As said if you go to the trouble to give a proper damage report I as consumer can at least attempt to try and claim from the insurance. Hisense doesn’t care about their customers!!!!! Proofs my point. Hisense attitude STINKS!!!!!!!!

I can see I am fighting a loosing battle. You say nothing about providing your customer a decent damage report to attempt to at least claim for their insurance. Pathetic!!

Good day,
I did receive a call and the lady said she needs to find something out and will revert back to me. I unfortunately missed her 2nd call. I did call back and leave a message but she has not yet returned my call.
