Hisense Nonsense No service
I am experiencing problems with a 55inch Hisense TV I purchased three week ago. A week ago the TV switches off by itself. I made the mistake of replacing the two-prong plug with a three prong, assuming the plug is not making proper contact, because when I fiddled with it, it comes on again. It keeps happening, so I took it back to Hi Fi Corp, where I was informed that I invalidated the warranty. I accepted it, it was my fault. However, their customer care informed me I must take the TV home, they will send a technician to investigate, This was to happen within two to three days. On the fourth day, I took the TV to their service centre in Milnerton, Cape Totwn, after numerous attempts to contact their customer care centre in either Atlantis or Milnerton. upon arrival, the three technicians told me they have no telephone facilities due to loadshedding. Pathetic for such a big company, and their service centre in Milnerton looks more like a storage facility than a service centre. One day later, I made various attempts to contact either centre, without success. At the customer care centre in Atlantis, a voice message keeps repeating that their working hours is until half past four Monday to Thursday, and half past three on Friday. My callswere made at 14h00.!!!!! I tried and tried, no success with any number. I found another number on the Internet, and spoken to a certain Amanda in Bedfordview , Gauteng. I explained, and she told me they are experincing problems with the telephone systems in Atlantis. She said she will send an urgent message for the relevant people to contact me immediately, agreeing that this is unacceptable service from Hisense. She also attempted to transfer me to the relevant customer care centre. No success. Nobody return my call, nobody care. My point is this: Their product becomes faulty. Yes, I made the mistakereplacing the plug, but why telling me they will sent a technician out to resolve the original problem, even since I was prepared to pay for it??? I am deeply disappointed with such service, and is blaming it on the service and work-ethics of the people in positions entrusted to them to carry the brand of the company high. They are simply not meant to be in such important positions. A faulty TV can be just that: A faulty component, but poor, (read NO ) service to address the issue, is not acceptable. This will be the last Hisense product I will purchase, simply because of the poor response and service.
