Hisense Double Door Fridge Nightmare
In Feb 2018 I bought a double door Hisense fridge with icemaker and water dispenser. I purchased it via Liv Green (licensed distributor of Hisense products) and it was delivered to my house. On receipt I only had to remove the packaging, plug the fridge in and connect the "plumbing" at the back for water/ice. In October 2018 the icemaker stopped working and I contacted Hisense Customer Care. A licensed (3rd party) repair technician was sent out and reported back to Hisense that my fridge was damaged "at the bottom, which cause it to lean at an angle that made the ice maker gears break down." Also that repairing the ice maker gears, would be a temporary solution, as due to the unit leaning, it would break again. They included photos of the "damage" at the bottom of the fridge, which apparently cause the issue. I was told that I damage the fridge/freezer and that repairs were for my account. After numerous emails (mostly unanswered) Hisense repeated their stance that I did not report the unit as "damaged" on receipt, hence I damaged it. That is ridiculous in that nr. 1, I did not know the unit was damaged at the bottom (who looks at bottom of new fridge) and nr. 2, the damage only became evident, when the ice maker stopped working. No amount of requests for Hisense to repair this very expensive and very new (under a year) unit, have been met with any kind of response worth mentioning. I simply cannot understand how Hisense cannot make more of an effort in repairing a unit that was bought (I thought in perfect order) and has now shown up numerous issues. The fridge door is now not even closing properly. Shocking service thus far.
