Hisense Dishwasher racks Rusted Within One Year
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Hisense South Africa regarding my Hisense H13DESS dishwasher. Less than a year after purchase, the dishwasher racks started rusting badly under normal household use. This is not minor surface rust — pieces of rust are breaking off and blocking the drain, making the appliance unsafe and unusable. When I reported the issue, I was informed that rust is not covered by the warranty. This response is unacceptable. A dishwasher is designed to operate in hot, wet conditions, and its racks should reasonably last for years. Severe rusting within the first year clearly indicates poor materials or a manufacturing defect, not wear and tear. In terms of South Africa’s Consumer Protection Act, products must be of good quality, reasonably durable, and fit for purpose. A dishwasher that develops serious rust-related failure within a year does not meet these standards, regardless of warranty exclusions. This experience has left me frustrated and disappointed — not only with the poor product quality, but also with Hisense’s refusal to take responsibility. I have lost confidence in the brand and will not purchase Hisense appliances again. I also strongly caution other consumers to consider this before buying Hisense products.
