Hisence makes No Sense.

My son purchased a Hisense fridge, expecting reliability and support. After just 18 months, the door seal failed — a critical component for maintaining temperature and efficiency. Shockingly, Hisense’s service department dismissed it as an “accessory” not covered by the warranty. That’s like saying a radiator in a car is an accessory — it’s essential to proper function! A fridge without a functioning seal loses cooling, wastes electricity, and risks food spoilage. It’s unacceptable for a manufacturer to sidestep responsibility for such a fundamental part. Hisense must stand by its products and not hide behind misleading warranty exclusions. Very disappointing. This fridge comes with a 5-year warranty as stated.

Subject: Re: Fridge Door Seal Warranty – Disappointment with Product Quality

Dear Hisense Customer Service,

Thank you for your response regarding the warranty on your fridge door seal. I note your statement that most manufacturers only offer a 6-month warranty on fridge door seals.

However, I must point out that in my personal experience, none of the refrigerators I've owned throughout my life—regardless of brand—have ever had a door seal fail within the first 18 months of use. In fact, most of them lasted well over a decade without issue. So while your warranty may be technically in line with industry norms, the quality of the product itself is not.

It's only your product that has failed in this way, and that says something. I am extremely disappointed with this experience. Based on this, I can confidently say that I will never purchase a Hisense product again. In my opinion, this fridge has proven to be substandard, and that is the bottom line.

Are you wanting me to pay for another potentially substanded seal? Do you not think that's a bit unreasonable. Your product failed, just accept it and do the righteous thing. I had an AEG fridge for 23 years and my door seal never failed.
