Do not trust this company honoring the warranty they advertise

I bought a chest Freezer in 2022 with a 4 year warranty. After about 2.5 years, it stopped working. Hisense then advised that their warranty on chest freezers is only for 2 years, even though all of the stickers and warranty cards indicated 4 years (including the fine print).

I then contacted Takealot, who got in touch with Hisense, only to come back with the following: "As per Hisense's official warranty terms, effective January 2024, the warranty period for chest freezers is 24 months. These updated terms replace any previously printed or published warranty information. You can view the full warranty details here: Warranty | Hisense SA."

How can a warranty be reduced by the supplier after purchase? Surely, that is against the law?
