DO NOT buy Hisense TVs with the VIDAA operating system.

DO NOT buy Hisense TVs with the VIDAA operating system. You CAN NOT install your own apps on this. If the TV doesn't have an app you want, tough luck, you cannot add any apps onto it. You're stuck in the VIDAA prison with no rights. I have had nothing but issues with Hisense and just when you think you're out the other side, you find another anti-consumer landmine that sucks the joy from your soul! I've sent them a complaint, but I doubt there's anything they can do because we are a stupid consumer who has to just put up with what we're given. I will never buy another Hisense product again! I gave them a chance to redeem themselves when my last smart TV broke and they couldn't fix it or replace it, but I was free to get a voucher and pay in more for a more expensive equivalent. Only to find out that this TV is less Smart TV and more mentally challenged TV. I'm out, sorry Hisense, I'd rather pay more and get a product that doesn't condemn me to put up with the technological crumbs you're able to give me. I hope this review helps others to not fall into the same sewer of technology that I find myself drowning in.

Good day Steve
We appreciate you getting in touch with us at Hisense SA. We would like to confirm that Vidaa does not offer an app store. All apps come pre-installed on the system, and once we launch an app, it will automatically appear on the Vidaa operating system as long as the TV is connected to the internet.
Kind regardsHisense SA

Hello Hisense,
I did not reach out to you. I reached out to anyone who was looking for honest answers to whether ANY Hisense product would be a good purchase for them to make or not. Sadly for you, and as luck would have it for me too, it would NOT be a good purchase.
Contrary to your comment, 'ALL' apps are NOT installed on the system. A very, very, very small number of apps are in fact installed on the system. Just because you say it, doesn't make it so Hisense.
I don't go to the grocery store for the store to tell me which products I'm allowed to buy. So why would I be happy with a 'smart' device's manufacturer telling me which apps I can have. This is not 2012, we haven't time-traveled to a woefully inadequate past, so why would I be happy with your woefully inadequate response? You're not even trying to 'fix' the problem, you're just telling your clients 'tough sh*t' and frankly it's a disgrace. If you told me you were releasing a new OS with firmware that allows users to download their own apps and it will be released soon, then that would be ok.....at least you'd be trying. But you're not even trying. So don't try fob me off with some bog standard BS response, I'm not interested.
I will warn ANYONE I EVER see looking at a Hisense product EVER again about the issues I've had with you and your products. I will make an intentional walk past the appliance section in any shop I go into that has one and actively seek out unsuspecting future victims of yours. I will warn them about the pitiful response to existing victims and do my best to prevent future victims from falling foul of you!
I do not wish you well. I hope you get what your poor product development choices earns you.
