Defective Hisense TV – Multiple Failed Repairs and No Response
Defective Hisense TV – Multiple Failed Repairs and No Response
I purchased a Hisense Smart TV, which remains defective despite multiple repair attempts while under warranty.
The unit was uplifted to Hisense’s authorised TG Version Gauteng workshop on 15 January 2026 and returned on 20 January 2026. Immediately upon return, the same faults persisted under normal use, including:
• TV turning on and off by itself • Apps changing without user input • Volume adjusting automatically
I have video evidence confirming these defects. The TV was also returned in an improperly reassembled condition, with the motherboard cover not secured, requiring repeated technician call-backs.
Hisense claimed that “no fault was found,” which is contradicted by the continued malfunction. Formal written requests for a replacement or refund in terms of the Consumer Protection Act (Section 56) have received no response.
As a result, I have escalated the matter to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud. I am still seeking a full replacement or refund.
I am posting this review to alert other consumers and to request that Hisense South Africa engage and resolve this matter.
I appreciate your response, but redirecting me back to *** does not resolve the ongoing issue. I have already sent two emails about this problem and even mentioned escalating to the CGSO, yet the TV remains defective, and I have received no meaningful action.
My Hisense TV, purchased on 24/12/2024, continues to switch on and off, adjust volume, and open applications on its own, despite multiple repair attempts:
- Mainboard replaced on 06/01/2025
- Sensor replaced on 08/01/2026
- TV uplifted from 15–20/01/2026
This is now a long-standing unresolved issue, and I am requesting an immediate full replacement or a full refund. I hope Hisense understands that redirecting customers without resolving their problems reflects poorly on the company and will take this seriously. I look forward to a proper resolution.
Regards,
Lettie
