Bad product and service

We have a Hisense fridge, it is not 5 years old and has stopped working. For 17 years we had a Defy with no problems. The hisense cools the freezer at the bottom and not the fridge at the top. Repairers tell us that we can throw it away, it is not repairable. So we contacted Hisense to send some body out to fix it as it is their product. East Coast Appliances want to charge us R 690 just for a call out and do not want to disclose their cost per hour to fix it. It seems the product is day light ******* and the repairs are also day light ******* or non existent.
